Getting Started

EmComm Tools OS Community Edition is built by you as I am unable to legally distribute the installation media or ISO images due to various licensing implications.

The documentation in this section will show you how to build a customized build of Ubuntu that will effectively become EmComm Tools Community. Building the image is the hard part; using it afterwards is the easy part.

To create the installation media for EmComm Tools Community, you will need to work the through the following sections in order. The high-level steps are to:

1. Download the Ubuntu 22.10 ISO image and flash it to a thumb drive.
2. Install Ubuntu 22.10 on a spare computer.
3. Install the image build software on Ubuntu 22.10.
4. Build a customized image using Cubic and the EmComm Tools Community installer.
5. Flash your EmComm Tools Community ISO image to a flash drive.
6. Install EmComm Tools Community on a computer.

Again, once you have the ISO image built and installed, you should experience a plug-and-play experience using a number of EmComm digital modes.
